Tim Langdell resigns from IGDA Board

IGDA has just issued a press release stating that Tim Langdell, CEO of Edge Games has stepped down from his position on the board of directors.

IGDA Announces Dr. Tim Langdell has stepped down from IGDA Board

Monday Aug. 31st, Mt. Royal, NJ:  The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) today
announced that Tim Langdell has resigned from the IGDA Board of Directors, effective
immediately. Dr Langdell had served on the Board since March 2009.

The resignation means that Dr Langdell’s seat on the Board is vacated, and will be up for election in early 2010. The special meeting called for the membership in Oct. on this matter will no longer take place.

This news arrived not long after the IGDA released a press release stating that Bob Bates, IGDA Co-Chair also stepped down from his position. Bob will be replaced by Tobi Saulnier.

We’d like to wish Bob all the best in his future pursuits outside of the IGDA.

    A good day indeed 🙂

Lot’s more to do though, and I expect Tim will resume his legal pursuits now with extra vigour.

It might be worth noting that Lexicon Entertainment is not the developer of this title, and they have a very, very bad reputation themselves. They were the original publisher of Penumbra, and they scammed the developers at Frictional Games.

    Look here, for instance: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1423&pid=11683

Thanks for that info. No doubt Edge Games aren’t the only baddies in the games industry. The rest will have to form an orderly queue as there’s only so much we can do in one day 😉
